Z is for...

Zero!!! There will be no more alphabet entries. You are relieved right?? I know that I am.

Well let me see a week has went by and lots has happened! Friday night, my parents and I drove out to Coffeyville to see my grandma Saturday morning. It was a little weird just being in her house without her there. My grandma has always lived in that house for as long as I remember and it is just weird to be there and her not be there. But nevertheless Grandma looked good! She talked the whole time we were there and her spirits were up really high! I was so glad to hear that too. She had given us
some good news, that she will be going home sometime this week! So that is AWESOME!!! She is not released yet, but she will be soon!!

Saturday after we went to GMA's, we traveled to Tulsa, Oklahoma and I spent the rest of the weekend with my family. It was really fun! We swam in my cousin's new pool all weekend and played fun games of Yahtzee and Mexican Train with dominos! It was a lot of fun. We came home Monday night, and let me tell you, I was exhausted! A long weekend with my family is awesome but at the same time, exhausting.

So last night, I went to my class this semester and there was a guest speaker that talked about a program with Emporia State University that
I can get my Bachelor's through ESU but on the Butler campus. The good thing about this is that the tuition is less than half the cost of Southwestern and Emporia State is a HUGE education school. It originally was a school for teachers only (at least thats what Abigale a.k.a. my roommate told me). So I am looking into that program currently and will keep you all updated on it!

This morning, I went to the chiropractor and of course he found more issues with my back but he fixed them and said it was caused mainly from my new exercise plan and stress of course! Then tonight, after work I came home and got ready for my friend, Emily's wedding! It was so much fun! It was outside at Botanica Gardens and very very cute! I will upload some pictures of it later when I get time! Right now, my camera is dead and charging! Also, I learned how to 2-step! It was interesting and a wee bit painful with high heels on
. :)

Well this coming weekend is going to be insanely busy again! Tomorrow night (which isn't technically the weekend but still) I am going to an Espresso Theatre night at a coffee shop downtown and then Friday night, I am going to a concert for First and Foremost at the same coffee shop and getting a pedicure with Abigale beforehand! Saturday, will be another day of doctors appointments. I am traveling to OKC to see my optometrist to check out some things with Wilson's.

Well thats pretty much the update for my blog today, I am sitting on my porch and just completed some homework and figured that I would update my blog!

Before I go, funny story....I was sitting on my porch this evening and had my headphones in and really reading my textbook and it had started sprinkling rain, went into a constant downpour and was done before I looked up and realized it had even started to rain!

Hope you have a great day and week! Love you all and God Bless!

Y is for....

Yummy....

Well it seems that I am almost done with this alphabet thing and let me tell you, I'm tired of it but since I have OCD I have to finish all the way to Z before I can stop..haha!

This past week has been pretty good. Sunday night after church some people from my Young Professionals group went to see Switch with Jennifer Aniston. Let me tell you, it was a great movie! I mean every "Chick Flick" is pretty much predictable but this one was cute and respectful and honestly I don't remember any really bad scenes like some of them have these days. So it is definitely a must-see for all of you movie viewers!

On Wednesday, I went to the gym and ran on the eliptical for 30 minutes! I was ecstatic! It felt really good and since my doctor actually prescribed 30 minutes of exercise a day, I think I'm doing pretty good. I just hope that I can keep it up!

Then Wednesday night I was watching one of my all-time favorite television shows (besides One Tree Hill of course), PSYCH! It is about this guy, Shawn Spencer, who proclaims to be a psychic and solves crimes for the Santa Barbara Police Department. It is quite frankly a hilarious show and very interesting. It is kind of a mixture of Monk and NCIS! And this week, the show mentioned Wilson's Disease! I received a few texts from friends letting me know that this was happening even though I had already DVR'd the show and intended on watching it momentarily. It did not say too much detail but the fact that it was mentioned was pretty exciting.

Tonight is the night, my mom and dad are coming over to cook dinner for Briawna and I, and I am going to mow the lawn again...I swear the grass grew like weeds, it was Crazy Fast!! Pray for me on that note!

This weekend I will be traveling to Coffeyville to see my grandma in the hospital. She is getting better and able to get out of bed a little easier and on her own now. So I'm excited to see her. Then Saturday, I will be going to Broken Arrow, OK to spend the weekend with my family for Labor Day! My cousins just installed a new pool, so we have to test it out.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and I found this cute poem about Labor Day...

No work today,
The day of Labor day,
No school today,
The day of Labor day,
The last day of white
To be worn,
The last day of summer
To enjoy.

Enjoy your weekend!!

X is for...

X-ray...

So last night, I mowed the lawn for the first time completely by myself and let me just say it is hard work!!! I almost had a heat stroke it was so difficult!!! But let me also just let you know that my yard is HUGE!!!! I mean ginormous!! It took me about an hour and a half to finish it all and it was super hot outside too!! It was actually only in the 80's but still that is really hot...I honestly don't understand how some people do this for a living! I definitely have a new found respect for all Lawn care professionals out there!

Besides that, Briawna and I have been watching some new movies lately and surprisingly they were really good...almost made me cry at at least 3 of them!

First, we watched "When In Rome"...a classic romantic comedy with Josh Duhamel and Kristin Bell! I really liked it, it was a good story line but honestly I think it could have been played out a little more intellectually and not completely about dumb blonde moments.

Second, we watched "The Sixth Sense"...now I understand that everyone has already seen this movie because it is completely a classic but I had never seen it until Friday night! This movie is quite phenomenal! I can't tell you how much it moved me!

Third, we watched "Remember Me"...I will be completely honest, when I first red-boxed this movie, it was because Robert Pattinson was the actor, but it really touched me. I had no idea that it had anything to do with 9/11...I must have missed that part of the previews but it was really moving and I almost came to tears...

And finally tonight, we watched "Letters to God"...the movie is actually still going on but I can already tell that it is going to be a tear-jerk. A young boys relationship with God really inspires me in more ways then one. When I first saw, "Fireproof" I was touched and wanted that kind of a relationship but sadly I was not dating or married to anyone so I could not entirely relate to the movie. But in Letters to God, the little boy has cancer. I mean he has a disease and so do I. I know that there is not even a close comparison between cancer and Wilson's disease but I guess it cuts me pretty deep sometimes when I read articles that say words like "fatal" and "lifelong" it just scares me.

But anyway, I just love movies that truly move me, so if anyone was wondering what movies to rent this next week, "The Sixth Sense", "Remember Me", and "Letters to God" are my recommendations!

Prayer Request

Also, before I head to sleep tonight I want to send a request out to all of you to pray for my grandma...

She has been diagnosed with Bone Marrow Cancer. She is luckily able to go through chemo in a pill form and started that awhile back so there is no radiation or other forms of chemo. This past week, she had some struggles and had to go into the hospital. She is there now until we can get her immune system back up to par.

She is eating on her own and doing better each day...just keep her and my family in your prayers please!

She is the only grandparent I have left so this time is really hard for me to even cope with it. Thank you to all! God Bless!

W is for....

Way too long.....

So it has been about 8 months and I decided that I should probably grace the blogworld with a post...I know I have been slacking on it but lets just be honest, alot has been going on since January so this is going to be a long post to just fill everyone in on what has been going on with me!
Well back in March/April time I started turning into a smurf
. I know that sounds funny but I really did. I started sweating the color blue. My perspiration was definitely turning into a smurf at least. So in the beginning of May I was talking to my best friend's mom (who did her laundry and noticed that I had "stained" one her her shirts) and asked, Whats this from? I said, "I don't know really I have just been turning different things blue recently, for example my shirts, my watch, and even my purse. She suggested that I go to the doctor to see what the deal was. So, I went to the doctor on May 11th, he ran tons of urine and blood tests and then he diagnosed me with Wilson's Disease, you can read about it here: http://www.webmd.com/digestive-disorders/wilsons-disease-11044. It's an extremely rare genetic disease that I have somehow acquired.

For treatment on this disease I have initially begun Chelation Therapy. You can read about that here: http://www.webmd.com/balance/tc/chelation-therapy-topic-overview. It is an IV treatment that I am doing once a week for 20 weeks then we will do more urine and blood tests to see what it has accomplished over the past few months. This past Tuesday was my 10th Chelation so I am half way done!! I am also taking Zinc medication to fight the copper as well so hopefully that is helping.
At the end of September we are going to see a gastroenterologist to kind of get a more specialized view and diagnosis. All prayers are definitely appreciated on this subject!

On other health issues, two weeks ago Friday I had periodontal surgery. The
gums in front of my bottom teeth in the very front were receding so I had surgery completed that took a skin graft from the roof of my mouth and put it where the gums were receding. Also, through surgery the doctor told me that they had to cut my frenulum between my gums and my lip. So now I don't have a frenulum. It's pretty funny but just a new fun fact!

So besides all of the depressing facts about my health, I have decided to go back to school!! How crazy is that?? I decided that I love children and would love to be an elementary education teacher. It might have something to do with my wonderful best friend/roommate starting her first year of teaching this year...but mostly it is because I have to get out of this profession and do something that I love. So school is the start. I am also doing this on a faster paced program so I will go only at nights and only take 2 classes at a a time but they are at night and they only last for about 8 weeks instead of 16 weeks. I just finished my first teaching class and yep, I'm still nervous!!! :)

My parents and I also went to Vienna, Austria over the first week of July so that was pretty awesome! We took a couple day trips to Salzburg, Austria; Budapest, Hungary; Melk, Austria; and we took a dinner cruise on the Danube River in Austria. It was pretty awesome!
One of my best friend's also got married this summer, Janet and Caleb are extremely happy and completely cute even with cake all over their faces!!! I was her maid of honor so I definitely got to experience some of the action! :)
And this fall, my other best friend and now roommate has started her first year teaching!!! Check out her awesome desk and very first classroom!!

And finally, Last night at church, we had a huge blowout for the end of VBS. The theme was Hero Headquarters so we had all of our local Heroes come out and let the kids see the "toy
s" and ride the "rides." We had cop cars, fire trucks, SWAT team vans, a Humvee, and tons of other people. It was pretty fantastic!!

Lindsey and I posing next to all the big guns!!! :)

They tied me down on the gurney!! Crazy!!

Sorry for being so far away from the blogging world...hope you enjoy my pictures! Thanks for reading!!

V is for....

Very Very Extroadinary....E is even more than anyone that you adore....
Name that movie?????

So, you all should be proud..it only took me a week to update my blog this time!

Last weekend I went with my mom and dad to try on ski boots! And guess what?? Yep...it still hurts. I just don't know what is going on! It's really confusing...but my opinion is that its my calves, and the fact that I am out of shape! So I have been flexing my calves and will hopefully be able to handle it for two days...skiing is my favorite thing in the world and I'm not about to let that go this easily! So everyone pray for me that I might make it through our ski trip next weekend! Can you believe one week from tomorrow I'll be driving up there??? AHHH!!! It's so close...im not packed! haha!

So anyway..then Saturday night I went to a LEGO Party!!! How awesome is that?? I met some new friends and made some great memories...sadly my BFOTB wasn't there. She was at home sick...so sadly she didnt get to enjoy the fun! Here are some pictures of our wonderful lego land that we invented....
This is obviously our park...(hence the title) you can see the basketball goal in the background..some slides...a teter totter (sp?) on the far back right...and just some fun toys,,and of course trees!!!
Thats Melissa and Jen!! They were the co-creators of the wonderful IDAHO!!! (We chose idaho because we thought it would be less likely to go through natural disasters)
We have a Zoo for animals...and jail for the people...an icecream parlor (complete with an arctic snowboarding policeman, horses, and a drive through window!!!)...and a mcdonalds!!! You can't see it..but there are 2 video game arcades, and a simulator that is a pink rocket ship!!
And then on Sunday..after church Nathan, Monique and I went to the Coliseum to help pack food for people in Haiti!! It was a lot of fun...and the best part was that we were actually there when they hit 1,000,000!!!! And by the time we left, they were almost up to 50,000 on top of that!!! It was so great! Our group specifically packed 1296 meals and we were on table 42!! just think about how many people were there and how many people we fed with just 45 minutes working!!! It is a great opportunity to help others!! There is another event that is going to happen at Wichita State on February 5th through the 8th! Go to the website.... http://www.numanainc.com/ to find out the specific times so you can help too!

This week had been pretty busy for me as well...on Monday I had a pampered chef party!! It was so cool! Not many came..but we had a lot of fun!! And then it was time to watch all of my shows...getting back into the seasons it gets pretty hectic!! especially when monday night i have 3 shows...tuesday i have 1 show (eventually)....wednesday 2 shows...thursday (nothing yet!!)...and the weekend i dont have any...but still thats a lot!! maybe i should stop my addictions?? but its ok...i have dvr so i dont have to worry about it too much!

Then on tuesday....caleb and i went and finalized the wedding place!! I'm so excited...me as the maid of honor had to approve of the venue! And let me tell you...its so pretty! I love the vaulted ceiling!! So that was exciting...im flying to washington on february 24th so i can drive back with janet and then all the wedding plans will start getting accomplished...

Wednesday...church of couse!! and i helped my friend with Statistics before that...my skills cease to amaze me!! lol! It's odd how much i like to do statistics...im one of those nerdy math people..and im ok with it!

Well today is a new day...lunch with the parentals...and then this weekend should be pretty exciting! Tomorrow briawna and I are actually going to go to an art show...i think it should be fun! its all about healthy relationships! I'm curious to see what it is going to be!

I guess I better be going now...hope you all have a fantastic day!!!

Here's my thought for the day....

U is for...

Understanding...

I hope you all are understanding that I haven't updated this in like forever!!! Lots has happened since i last posted too!

3 Months...21 Days...is a long time to catch up on ! Lets see..in November, I turned 22! Crazy right??? Who knew I would ever make it this far...I'm can't believe i am this old either! For my birthday, nothing big happened lol....On the actual day anyway...My best friend and I did our laundry!! It was awesome! lol!

But a week or so after the actual day, the guy i was dating at the time took me to see Jeremy Camp, Natalie Grant, and Bebo Norman! It was an awesome concert! I loved it...I'll be honest..I was so touched by God's presence at that concert that i cried...unbelievable!

Natalie Grant is amazing! Her inspiring words and voice are irreplaceable! I will be honest...on her CD its not that great...but in concert she is wonderful!!

Lets see at the end of November for Thanksgiving...my cousin Kasey got married to his best friend Ashley! Their wedding was in Fort Worth, Texas and it was beautiful! So we spent all of Thanksgiving break in Fort Worth! We shopped on black friday and my cousin, Jessamyn and I went to see "A Christmas Carol" with Jim Carey!! I'll be honest...its a little scary...lol! I guess I should have taken my mom up on all those years watching "Scrooged" so I would have been more prepared! lol! It was in 3D so it made it more exciting! And at that theatre...it wasn't just Dinner at my seat...we had tables and reclining chairs..and cup holders...and it was awesome!

Then in December...I finished my Literature class and received my Associates Degree...its not much..The degree is an Associate of Arts! It's pretty much nothing. I am taking this semester off of school and working full time and looking into schools for the fall! I have decided that I am either going to get my degree is Computer Science or Management Information Systems! Because I am really interested in Forensics! But not just forensics...Digital Forensics! And there is an awesome Master's program at UCO that I might look into... But lets remember all of this will come in due time! Now, I am just deciding where to finish up my bachelor's! I am looking at WSU (of course), K-State, KU, and UCO. UCO is the one with the forensics master program so thats why its a part of my options. I will keep you all updated when some final decisions are made...dont assume anything though! Remember...I change my mind way to often to bet on it!

So many things happened in December...for one...one of my best friends, Janet, got engaged!!!! And I was there!! I was so excited! Her fiancee's sister and I traveled to Kansas City and video taped the whole thing! It was so cute! And she asked me to be the maid of honor!! So they are getting married this summer! It is going to start getting really crazy over the next few months planning it! I'm so excited for her too!!

Another wonderful thing happened in December....I was blessed with a nephew, Rosson Drew Byrd!!! He is so precious! Here's some pictures of him...

Here's Rosson at 4 Weeks old!! Isn't he precious??

And here is miss jaylen with her baby brother...she loves him so much!!

And then here is my wonderful niece macy!! she's just precious!

Oh and here is a few pics of the girls from Halloween!! Jaylen was a Labdybug and Miss Macy was a Skunk!!

I personally dressed up for halloween myself!! I dressed up with the boy I was with at the time...and we were Mario and Luigi! It was awesome!! We almost won best costume! Because both of the costumes were homemade by me!!!

So anyway...that was my October, November, and December....so far in January it has been pretty crazy as well! New years I went to an awesome party! A girl from another church threw this huge party and I definitely made some exciting memories!

And then a couple days later I went to my Aunt Susies and the grandchildren met there! We all had fun just relaxing and having some fun cousin time! And then of course the next day, we all traveled to grandmas house! And had christmas! I made my cousin an OSU blanket! I hope he liked it! I decided that since I was an OU Sooner fan that I should at least wrap it in OU wrapping paper!! So I found an awesome OU bag and put the OSU blanket inside of it! It was great!!

Now that we are back to normal around here...no more holidays..no more babies coming...its getting a little bit normal lol! Briawna and I have acquired an obsession to a new game on my wii...Just Dance! Its fantastic! We use it as a work out! And our favorite song is on it too...Wannabe by the Spice Girls! Yep! Thats the best!

Last night we went over to our friend danny's house and watched What Happens in Vegas! It was great! He was an awesome host, chips, salsa, and queso! And peach tea!! YAY!! Thanks to Annie for introducing us to it as well!!

Well, this weekend...theres a girls night tonight that I may or may not go to...i don't understand why girls like to have girls nights...i mean all we are going to do is just watch sappy love movies (that are good don't get me wrong) but all they are going to do is remind me of how single i am and i'll be honest..guys are more fun to hang out with! Now, if it was one of those women's bible studies or something..i would be totally up for it! But really...a friday night to be with just girls...i don't know if i am the only one that feels that way but im not about to ignore guys my whole life!

Anyway...im off my rant...and tomorrow night im going to a LEGO PARTY!! How fun does that sound??? Yep...we are going to take all the legos that everyone owns and build an entire lego empire!! It's awesome! And creative right?? I'll take some pictures and put them up next time...

Well I guess I better get back to work! My mom and dad took their old 1947 chevy pick up to the inspection office and were going to lunch when they get done so I gotta be ready! Hope you all have a blessed day and I will leave you with one thought....
